Spoonbread Tube

A community for sharing videos about labor issues centered on Appalachia, but almost anything that can be connected to the region in some type of way is welcome. Some examples of things that are immediately relevant:

• Black issues (Cornbread Tube)
• Videos related to indigenous tribes such as the Choctaw, Chikasha, Creek, Cherokee, Yuchi, Saluda, Catawba, Yadkin, Keyaunee, Chisca, Tutela, Monteon, Shatteras, Xualae, Monacan, Mohetan, Calcuas, Shawnee, Mosopelea, Monongahela, Okehocking, Alligewi, Akhrakouaeronon, Erie, Susquehannock, Lenape, Seneca, Cayuga, Onondaga, Oneida, as well as the tribes that last grouping are in community with as the Haudenosaunee (as well as any others I have missed like the Tanui whose history has been largely erased by a modern white supremacist hegemony) (This includes any Diasporas thereof)
• Southern issues (given Appalachia's complicated interplays with early European colonization in what is today referred to as "Florida" as well as "Georgia", and then the plantation system that was established throughout the southern piedmont to fuel Europe's thirst for the African cotton plant, as well as to grow the tobacco that would be used to subjugate the people of southern eastern Europe as well as west Asia
• Our staple crops (sunflowers, squash, tomatoes, beans, maize (corn), ramps, pokeweed, sassafras, dandelion, pawpaw, lamb's quarters, black walnuts, wild ginger, elderberry, sumac, hickory nuts, chickweed, persimmons, stinging nettle, burdock) wherever they are grown
• Pan Appalachian experiences (We do not consider the Appalachian core to be the only Appalachian experience, and include our brothers and sisters across the ENTIRE Central Pangean Mountain region, including the Ouachita Ozarks, Eastern "Canada", the Atlas and Anti-Atlas Mountains in Africa, the western portions of the Iberian peninsula such as western Spain and the entirety of Portugal, the Bohemian Massif and Massif Central mountains, Wales, Ireland, and Scotland) (We especially do not consider the Appalachian Regional Commission's definition of Appalachia to be useful)
• Issues relating to fossil fuel, rare earth, and radioactive extraction economies

Rules

1. Do not disrupt our efforts to act in good faith
2. Be a good neighbor (everyone gets fed, absolutely no bigotry will be tolerated)
3. Your politics are how you treat people. I don't care if you adopt the aesthetics of labor politics. If you come in here behaving in a way that is uncondusive to labor organization you will receive limited opportunities to adjust your approach depending on the egregiousness of your behavior.
