Add that to a lot of Vegas's major attractions not being updated or upgraded -- or even properly maintained -- for decades now. Some of them are literally falling apart, yet they're ever more priced like a premium product.

And, yeah. Of course it's empty. Right-wing politics and economics have reduced demand, and they keep jacking up prices on a deteriorating, depreciating product. Come pay $900/night to stay in a hotel room that has stained, peeling carpet. The mini-bar in the room has eye-tracking sensors and will charge you $8.50 for a bottle of water if you look at it for longer than 3 seconds. Want a wifi password? That'll be $15. Per night. Come down to drink at a tarnished, empty bar for only $32 per drink. Who wouldn't want that? Oh yeah -- people who are too broke to afford that bullshit, and people who are worried that traveling to the US could have them ending up in a concentration camp. That's who.

Edit: oh yeah, and the other huge issue for Vegas: the wide-scale legalization of online gambling. People don't have to travel to Vegas to gamble anymore. They've got a casino in their pocket.
