israel and russia are the two most evil powers on earth

[-] chilldrivenspade@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

the US is just an extension of both

It's a threesome, and the US is the one being spitroasted.

Can someone explain "blacklist" here? Are other nations allowed to do this shit?

[-] Telemachus93@slrpnk.net 10 points 1 day ago

The report is linked in the article. It's an annual report of the Secretary General to the Security Council.

There isn't really anything stopping them from doing it, just like the us bombing people in boats, its not legal, but who's gonna stop them?

No, it means that every country found to do sanctioned and systematic sexual violence is on the blacklist.

I assume it means that they lose some privileges or they can’t send troops to be part of UN forces. Also, I’ve heard little of Russian war crimes, to the extent there are any.

Israel in the other hand has publicly admitted to systemic sexual abuse of prisoners, including using dogs to carry out rapes.

It’s listed in the article if you read it, and I’ve seen multiple reports. There are also credible reports of other human rights violations around the invasion of Ukraine. I don’t know whose water you’re carrying here or if this is some campist crap.

Yeah, the article seems to skip explaining what the blacklist is.

[-] 0x0@infosec.pub 6 points 1 day ago

Since its a UN list, it is literally just a list, no penalty, just a naughty list.

[-] FarraigePlaisteach@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Yeah. It seems to be a list rather than a blacklist. But because it names and shames it makes it easier for public sentiment to change and maybe some on-the-fence parties to come off it. It’s breadcrumbs, but I’ll take it.
