I refuse to watch these movies if it's not the BD Extended cut.
I recently got audio sorted for my home viewing experience and plan to get a tv, so I went looking for BD players.
A decent 4k BD player is around USD550. If you can find one.
But with a player, the disc will work in a month or 10 years; the streaming service is compressed and might take away the media in a week. The extras are something worth watching. The cases have artwork. Like with physical CDs, there’s a mindfulness that exists when you select something to listen to instead of just clicking on what the algorithm shows.
Physical media has always been the best.
Streaming exists only because people found it more convenient. Unfortunately, we live in a society where convenience always, always wins.
And in the end, they'll end up paying more for streaming than they did for physical media. More money for a worse product -- but they get that instant gratification. It's like a drug.
