I finally installed my two panels, plugged them in and they started producing right away.

250,- EUR for the whole 500W setup, no battery.

It's really more of a hobby project but it feels great. I opted for the modern thin flexible panels and they are super easy to install.

Good start. I put up 2 kWp a few years ago.

I'd rather not for privacy reasons.

You should see my neighborhood! About half of the households have opted for balcony solar and it literally looks like those solarpunk pictures with potted plants and solar panels everywhere.

Good! People need to do as much as they can, no matter how little it seems. It all adds up. Look at the Canadian boycott of the US, we've put a dent in several of their industries.

That's neat, did you have to do anything with your electrical utility and your existing power meter?

I just have to register it with the relevant agency and that's it.

Nice, enjoy the free electricity during the day. Have you already started adjusting your habits like putting the washing machine on a timer to run it when there is a lot of sun?

I don't think I will. There's always power draw in my household during the day and the setup is too small to justify behavioural changes.
