Wasn't to hard of a choice after realizing i could go on a $30/mo spending spree on Steam every month...and get to keep the games... and get to not pay it every month if life gets a little hectic.

I learned my lesson long ago, I don't fall for the subscription scam anymore. They only thing guaranteed with a subscription is that the "service" will get worse and more expensive.

I'm sure microslop can do better, remove half the titles, 2 minutes forced interactive ads randomly every 5-25 minutes. And then every 3 months you can play a mini game to win a free month, but only if your ad-game score is high enough.

With the prepaid live gold cards and gold to ultimate 1:1 conversion rate, game pass had really great value. I played quite a number of games that had flown under my radar over the ~4years I was subscribed.

Obviously I bailed, since they killed all conversion enticements and price hiked it to ludicrous levels.

Much slower than the rest of us, but at least they figured it out!

I guess there were enough people like me that went from the $20 plan to the $15 plan or completely cancelled, instead of just accepting the increase.

Yeah, I'm not coming back to XBox, even if they drop the price to $1/year. I don't have any faith in whatever Project Helix turns out to be.
