The AUDACITY. How DARE they undersell their offensive capabilities! This is UNFAIR!
"Probably. I mean, not based on data or anything, but probably."
The fact that there is no equal-but-opposite version of Piers Morgan shows how skewed our media really is. The guy was already dodgy from his Mirror days, well before he was a TV host - the fact he's been able to build himself up into this "voice of the people" is nothing short of mind-boggling.
People have become so angry at the state of things that they cling onto people who at least seem to get angry on their behalf. The snideness and argumentativeness and fuck you attitude towards ones political enemies is just too juicy a thing to not enjoy, that accuracy and truth become a sideshow at best. It's an essential ingredient of political discourse being debased into theatre and obfuscation.
Absolute lunacy posting. Do you really believe that Iran could send a middle to GB without it being detected and intercepted?
Missiles aren't some magical you die button. We are also in range of the muscovite empire and discount Korea. Screaming in panic followed by paralysis and appeasement is the least sane reaction to that.
what a dumbass
Well, their nuclear warhead production capability got trashed, so while they can potentially hit the UK, they aren't going to be able to do all that much damage. Ballistic missiles aren't the most-cost-effective-way to move explosive.
If they wanted to do some surprise attack on the UK, they'd probably be better off just having some cargo vessel(s) full of disguised cruise missiles in containers or something like that.
Hmmm.... these missiles that didn't actually get anywhere near Diego Garcia (one failed; one shot down?) are proof that Iranians can hit UK? Plus Iranians say they didn't fire them anyway.
It's warfare. Who knows the truth? I wouldn't believe either side based on their track records.
UK Politics
General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both !uk_politics@feddit.uk and !unitedkingdom@feddit.uk .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.
Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.
Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.
If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)
Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.
Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.
