How does she define culture? The usual way? Shared values, social behaviours, stories?

I can't think of a single common touchpoint that me and Kemi share - our values, our sense of what is considered an acceptable way to act, and I'd be very surprised if she grew up playing RPGs and watching anime.

I suspect the truth lies closer to the fact that the Tories need someone to blame. It used to be Jewish people, then it was black people and the Irish, now it's Muslims. It's always someone.

We've always been multicultural - even without immigration. We're a country made up of four distinct smaller countries. English isn't even the official national language - the only official language anywhere in the UK is Welsh.

As for a shared culture, I suspect I would have much more of a shared life experience with a 45 year old Software Developer from Sweden than I would a 70 year old Daily Mail reader from Cornwall.

I do like to think that younger voters get this, though. They're less easy to scare, and less easy to trick. Hopefully this recent result is a sign of things to come.

In England, classes are distinct cultures.

Nobody who's ignoring that has any validity in claiming that England isn't multi-cultural: it's multi-cultural vertically, & nobody with any intellectual-integrity would dispute that.

Horizontally, it's multi-cultural, too, as simply walking 'round in England will prove.

In England, different cultures definintely are not homogenous ( dad was Anglo-Indian, from India, & I lived in England back in the 1970's, & cultural-segregation was quite significant then: my English relatives were English, and not of Indian culture.

Even though dad was 1/2 & 1/2..

the prejudice among the Anglo-Indians was sufficient to keep Indian culture out from them, it seems..

I also think it's hilarious that all of the parties keep bringing up drug legalisation, which for some bizarre reason they're all against, but because they know people are generally in favour of the legalisation of marijuana they have to use harder drugs to generate an air of legitimacy. Why don't they try having popular policies for once, you would have thought that would have been pretty obvious then maybe people would vote for them.
