I've done a commute of a similar length, though much more distance. Being sat in a car, moving slower than you could walk, that does sound stressful.

Going off a quick search, looks like there's a train every twenty minutes or so from Kildare to Dublin. That would be my preference.

I’ve always been lucky to be within ~30 minutes journey to wherever I’ve worked. But I remember at certain times during festivals where traffic would be crawling. You can’t relax because you have to tap the accelerator slightly every half a minute as the traffic inches forward. It’s like working in a lean manufacturing environment: excruciating. So arriving at work after a journey like that, or even just a long one, only to face another one home sounds like utter torture.

I’m genuinely sorry for people spending their lives like that.
