It is not trolling it's threatening. Don't downplay his psychopathy

You don't get to make jokes like that without a lot of good will by your side, it's like a surgeon saying they like to touch little kids while they're knocked out

Old man with dementia not able to follow the borders of his colouring book.

Please remember, he's old and geriatric. He didn't create this map. The multitude of evil fascists running the administration are behind this - it's just got that sloppy fuck's orange signature of approval.

Did they give him the crayons to color it in by himself?

[-] AbouBenAdhem@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago

Musk gave him the AI that colored it for him.

One night Musk and Trump were sitting in the Oval Office not doing much, as they like to do. Musk was out of his gourd on ketamine and Trump just shit himself for the third time since his last diaper change. Out of nowhere Musk says: "We should start saying "Sieg Heil" to each other". Trump looks up, or at least as much as his failing body would allow, and says: "Why Elon? What does that mean?" Musk responds, irritation showing in his voice: "Well that's what our brothers in Germany said, so I think we should bring back the tradition". Trump, also getting angry, picks up the phone and shouts he needs a MickeyD hamberder right away. As he fumbles the handle back on the red phone, he shouts to Musk: "Yes, I know that's what the Germans said, but what does it mean?!". "I'm not sure, wait I'll ask Grok" Musk responds. After a couple of failed tries with the speech to text on his phone, Grok responds using a voice suspiciously like Scarlett Johanssons. Grok explains the word Sieg means victory and Heil is a greeting (hail), Germans used to say this to mean they believed they would be victorious. "Why would we say it then? I'm already President for life, I already have my victory!" Trump exclaimed. "We're going to need a war then" Musk responded.

"And that, children, is how WW3 started all the way back in 2026" the Teacherbot says to the class over Microsoft Copilot New 365 Teams with Copilot (tm). Elroy shouts: "Teacher! That can't be true, that sounds dumb as shit!". "Language! We'll have a talk about your behavior after class young man. I've already sent a meeting invite to your father, so he'll be joining that call as well" Teacherbot responds. Elroy sighs and says "Ah shucks"

To all voters that did this... " You fucking idiots!"

[-] frustrated_phagocytosis@fedia.io 12 points 1 month ago

Start putting the Canadian or Danish or Greenland flag over the US. Even better a giant white surrender flag in his favorite color.

[-] FaceDeer@fedia.io 29 points 1 month ago

Canadian here. We very much do not want any American territory. It's got Americans in it.

[-] Nebraska_Huskers@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago

You would take New York, Minnesota, Washington, possibly north Dakota nobody really lives there and would be easy to take over. I'll move from Nebraska and become a resident if you do

[-] FaceDeer@fedia.io 4 points 1 month ago

If you want to become Canadian, why not move to Canada? There's an immigration process you can apply for.

You're still asking us to do all the hard work for you.

[-] WanderingThoughts@europe.pub 4 points 1 month ago

Russia takes Alaska. Mexico takes the West Coast. Canada the East Coast. Denmark the South.

[-] wewbull@feddit.uk 2 points 1 month ago

What did the Danes do to deserve that?!?

[-] hector@lemmy.today 5 points 1 month ago

Our president is shitposting again, nothing new. The shitpost of him dumping wet shit by airplane bomber on americans is about the most accurate thing we have ever gotten from him. He, and his administration and donors, are shitting on us from a great height.

[-] ideonek@piefed.social 23 points 1 month ago

Then fucking do something about it. Your "what else is new?" attitude is realy bonkers. You country become a bad guy from every story you ever enjoined.

[-] hector@lemmy.today 5 points 1 month ago

Great advice. Just overthrow the oligarchy. Except your own country is fucked in the same way following us to be sure. So maybe fix your own fucked system before castigating citizens for not stopping their super rich that have captured all major political parties across the west.

[-] ideonek@piefed.social 8 points 1 month ago

Whatever I do is enought to keep my country from threatening to use military force against my most loyal allies.

[-] hector@lemmy.today 9 points 1 month ago

The entire west is following, you are ignorant of the situation here, along with everyone else getting their worldview spoon fed to them by media.

[-] ideonek@piefed.social 5 points 1 month ago

But you are not are you? Use that insight to change something.

[-] curbstickle@anarchist.nexus 8 points 1 month ago

Whatever I do is enought to keep my country from threatening to use military force against my most loyal allies.

Are you sure? Or is it just that terrible people haven't spent enough time manipulating enough people to get the worst possible people elected?

Do you have an actual suggestion here?

I'd love to hear it. Seriously. I'm quite a long way from anywhere that ICE is active, and have no way of getting near or in any way impacting Trump. Economics don't even seem to matter, as its currently spiraling, so I can't even see a general strike having too much impact at the moment. Entire industries have already been functionally devastated by the shithead and the shithead sycophants, and nothing has changed.

What's your suggestion?

If its a mass armed revolution, that's just sending anyone against all this shit to die - there is a drastic difference between what the military and even ~~brownshirts~~ ICE compared to what regular people have access to. That would just be a slaughter.

What do you suggest? As you said, you're doing something that you believe is somehow preventing this same problem, where billionaires have leveraged social media to manipulate and divide for the outcome they wanted.

So what is this wonderous solution? I'm all ears. I mean it. Because the "something's" I've been doing (protest, working to establish local community networks for resource sharing, getting people aware of and off billionaire owned soc media, writing senators and members of congress regularly, contacting local politicians, etc - I'm definitely on a federal list by now) are apparently not as good as your suggestion of whatever you've been doing.

So please. Share your solution to fix things.

[-] ideonek@piefed.social 2 points 1 month ago

You do all that? Than you, and you personally only may have my sencire apologies and the world of admiration. And I'm sorry that it is happening to you.

But I'm done with the benefits of the doubt. I'll judge you colectively by the outcome. And untill I see the systemic change your country is not trustworthy in my eye.

If trump died today, it wouldn't be a sing of relife for me. It would be prove that you collectively broken your system so much that only thing that can stop tyrant in charge is time.

This is not the outcome of today. It is not happening since yesterday. You ask hypotheticals about my country. Until there is one person who is not using all their purchasing power, all admistrative presure and as much civil disobedience they have in their disposal, your country is not taking their responsibility and I'll judge you collectively until proven otherwise. Feel free to do the same with me and my country.

Not everyone can do everything. But litteraly everyone can cancel their fucking Disney+ subscription. And all trump supporters are doing very well, becouse - collectively - a bare minimum of invonviniece seams to be harder to overcome than a shame of betrayal.

Posting "what else is new" memes is not resistence. Its rolling over.

[-] curbstickle@anarchist.nexus 4 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

You do all that?

I do. One of our friends is part of a group that makes sure a maga shithead representative never gets to enjoy a night out. Another friend is going door to door to talk to people and make sure they know what's going on - and I can say several maga flags have come down as a result. Another friend was able to take an opportunity to get out of the country (she's trans) and is trying to get involved with the support network there for others in a similar situation. My neighbors are Indian, and are helping out others who are heading back by helping store their belongings as they try and get to safety before ICE does make it nearby.

Than you, and you personally only may have my sencire apologies and the world of admiration. And I'm sorry that it is happening to you.

Here's the thing - as I mentioned above, a lot of people are doing things. I can't travel far without pain, so getting to DC or something to protest is a non-starter. I can't even make it to the larger protests in my state because they are mostly pretty far, longer than I can drive. We have two small kids, so either me or my wife have to stay home.

Others dont even have that option. They may only talk to friends and family about the issues going on to try and get them to see the truth. Or maybe they make phone calls to representatives. Or they send emails. Or maybe they are burnt out completely and need a break to stay functional.

The point is - how much someone is doing doesn't matter. You have no idea how much or how little anyone is doing. Someone who works from home and makes good enough money to spend time on other activities (like me) isnt doing more, IMO, than the person who works three jobs just to get by and shows up to one protest a month that happens to coincide with their day off.

I'll judge you colectively by the outcome.

And so you've already judged me and that person spending their one day not working as being part of the problem.

Do you see why I take issue with such a divisive comment?

Nothing I have done has stopped Trump. And I'll be candid, I really dont believe anything I do can stop Trump. I don't have that kind of money, access, power, whatever to create that kind of change. That, by itself, is a depressing and demoralizing reality.

If trump died today, it wouldn't be a sing of relife for me. It would be prove that you collectively broken your system so much that only thing that can stop tyrant in charge is time.

When enough people are in a position of power to prevent what should not be happening in the first place - absolutely. There are mechanisms to stop this, built on the idea that the people in office would represent their constituents, that they would not take such blatant (and frankly criminal) advantage of their positions to be so heinous and downright evil. This isnt the system being broken by new changes so much as it just not being good enough from the start to prevent it.

Posting "what else is new" memes is not resistence. Its rolling over.

Its also a way for someone to let off a little bit of steam, given the downright depressing reality bearing down on Americans who did not want this.

I guess the short version of all that is - its about as helpful as your comment painting every American as being supportive of this just because its continuing.

Most of us hate this. Most of us have absolutely no way to stop it, either.

[-] ideonek@piefed.social 1 points 1 month ago

I'm sorry, but if most of you did would they could to stop it, it would be stopped.

[-] curbstickle@anarchist.nexus 1 points 1 month ago

How?

I'm annoying reps who are well aware they are the lesser of two evils, so they just need to avoid being primaried.

I'm making others aware of and getting contributions to things like community pantries.

I'm getting communication options going that dont rely on cell phones (thanks Verizon! Your shitty cellular network and long outage really helped me push this idea along)

I'm basically a pest who talks to other pests in their eyes.

None of these things will stop Trump (not that he's the only problem here, just one of the most significant right now). More people with the time and energy to do the same I can't see having any more of an impact.

The people who could deal with this are, generically speaking, billionaires and conservative representatives, a tiny minority of the population, neither of which are interested in having a course change.

So what's the suggestion here that will solve the problem? I'll gladly share it and work on it.

[-] ideonek@piefed.social 1 points 1 month ago

None of these things will stop Trump

Did you try?

What did you try so far? Who did you call? What protest did you attend? What protest did you organized? What subscriptions did you stoped? What did you wrote in the "why" box? What product and services did you stopped buying? To what did you volontired to? What was the name of that NGO? Who did you help? How did you organized?

Please don't tell me that most of you tried everything they can when 55 million people pay for Disney+. If it droped by half mickey mouse death squad would persobaly remove donald

You legalized corruption and called it "lobbing". At the very least you could force them to "lobby" for you.

[-] curbstickle@anarchist.nexus 1 points 1 month ago

So we're just going to ignore what ive already listed, and you've decided to tack on a bunch of other random things which - lol - mostly have nothing to do with trump and I didnt have in the first place.

I can see pointing out the issues with your comment will get nowhere, so I'm going to go ahead and move on now. Enjoy your day.

[-] ideonek@piefed.social 1 points 1 month ago

Kę? I honestly thought you were a different person. Why else would you ask again what you personally could do more, if we allteady established that you do a lot, and - in your hart of harts - belive that you do all you can?

Individual you we covered, why did you brought it you again? You said that that most of [collective] you all thay can to change it. I said it can't be true becouse if it was it would allteady be changed. So why did you start dogging up about yourself again?

Honestlu, it took an opposite effect becouse your casual dismissal of things as not helpful and random revel that you don't realy look for ways to do more. And whatever you do its not enought, so it seems that one would be desperate to do something. Especially if the price is inconvenience.

What exactly is not ralated? Putting the economical presure on actors the have more leverage than you? Making sure that people who could be targeted for being opostion have the network of support? Procetctong most vonurable? Making your system stronger buttom-up so its harder to abuse? You seriously don't see link between civil responsibility and unnacontable leader? Is everything you know about democracy is how to make a movie about it? It make me retroactively question my appologies.

You are right, its time to move on. Watch one of your 6 subscriton services. People who are being mobilized against your army will find solace that you truly belive that most of you did all they can to stop it. You deserved it. There is nothing else you can do.

[-] curbstickle@anarchist.nexus 1 points 1 month ago

Watch one of your 6 subscriton services

The ones I said I don't even have in the first place?

Cool. Thanks for reading the very short comment so thoroughly.

Enjoy your day.

[-] ideonek@piefed.social 1 points 1 month ago

Well, 55 million of you do. But you are right, I'm so sorry iI didnt put all my undivided attention to your strugle under this post about your country invading allies. What did we learn here? What's our take away? All (majority? Most?) of you do absolutly all (except maybe feel that you dont feel like that would work - the random ones), and you have no remarks about what you or your fellow Americans could do better. No room for improvements. no notes...

I understand why trump didn't get the pece price. Tu much competition.

Honestly? I'll probably have a remorse soon. You are, unironically, victims here as well. I hope that people with better position to be a real.opposition make a systemic changes and I hope that will do it before next election or before trump dies out of old.age. But also fuck you for dodging the shread of both individual and colective responsibility for any of this. This is... sad.

[-] curbstickle@anarchist.nexus 1 points 1 month ago

Yep, thats me, not doing anything and just dodging it all.

Such keen insight.

[-] ProdigalFrog@slrpnk.net 5 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Here are concrete steps we can take to combat this (the titles below expand if you click them).

Learn First Aid! ⛑️

The future us likely to be violent, and It extremely important to have the skills to be able to keep yourself and others alive if they get hurt. You can never have too many medics.

Tacticool Girlfriend provides a great introduction to building a personal first aid kit, called an IFAK, which can deal with things like bullet wounds and other serious bleeding wounds. I also want to emphasize her recommendation of only buying medical gear from reputable sources (not Amazon!), such as North American Rescue to avoid fakes that could cost you your life.

But you'll need to learn how to use that equipment, too. The best resource for that is to take a local Stop The Bleed class, which are pretty widely available in most places. They may cost a small fee, but can also sometimes be free. Alternatively, if you cannot access a local class, this video by PrepMedic will give you a solid understanding of how to use Tourniquets and Gauze for wound packing.

Injuries are less harmful if they are tended to early. Learning first aid can help conserve resources when healthcare becomes unaffordable. Having several medics in case of harm by police is an extremely powerful morale booster during a protest that may become a police riot. When you become comfortable with the basics of first aid, riot medicine is the next suggested step.

Establish or join local Mutual Aid networks

If you haven't already, get to know your neighbors. Mutual aid is a willingness to support and grow your community. This can include informal networks through friends, tenant/renter organizations, solidarity groups, and industrial unions.

These are groups using direct action to solve each other's problems. Building strong communities makes it difficult for fascism to take root. The actions of the government are going to hit every community hard, and the ones who build trust in each other and work together are most likely to survive. We've been building a list of resources in !inperson@slrpnk.net to help you on your way. Also check out this handy guide to find existing groups in your area.

This isn't only for your own community protection. Your ability to organize today will change the political landscape tomorrow. When revolution occurs, the social organizations that show the greatest resilience through the regime are the ones typically calling the shots when the dust settles. When it comes to elections, get out the vote drives are useless if most of the voters are fascists. At some point, you have to do grassroots political education if you don't want fascist candidates winning elections. Mutual aid networks are excellent forums not only for teaching each other good political ideas, but demonstrating them in practice.

Join a Union and Prepare for a General Strike! 💪

The most effective non-violent action we can take is preparing and organizing for a General Strike.

The country would be brought to its knees if suddenly deprived of profit and labor. That tactic was extremely effective in Chile in 2019, and had they not fallen for the trick of liberal reform, they would've had a successful revolution on their hands with virtually no bloodshed.

If you aren't in a union (or even if you are, it's worth dual-carding), consider joining the IWW to unionize your workplace (bonus: you'll get higher wages, better benefits, and more time off if you succeed!) to strengthen a general strike if we manage to enact one, as most unions have a strike fund that can supplement your income during a general strike to make it more financially bearable (you should also save as much money as you can reasonably do, so it can also be used to keep yourself afloat during a strike).

And for our international friends, you should join one as well, as fascism is gaining momentum globally. If your country isn't listed below, just contact the IWW directly in the link above, and they'll help you set up a new local branch.

Adopt Security Culture and Digital Camouflage 🛡️

Sometimes benign seeming efforts can turn into unexpected personal data collecting traps. Like an obscure website for exchanging contact info with other students turning into a global ad-tech surveillance network (Facebook), or innocent seeming online personality tests being use to harvest character profiles. Even Etsy, Reddit, Tinder, and Duolingo are feeding information to US Government Agencies like ICE.

Security culture is commonly used to describe the general awareness of such potential traps and how it can affect groups or entire communities. This goes beyond mere individual privacy efforts, as without joint efforts these often fail to work.

Especially in activist circles, security culture is paramount. For opsec reasons not everyone in the group might be aware of what clandestine efforts others are involved in, but with a general security culture many potential data leaks can be avoided.

Movements are made by the volume of their participants, and the easier and less dangerous it is to participate, the more people will get involved. As more people get involved, individual involvement becomes even less dangerous, creating a virtuous cycle.

We'll start it off with some General Advice:

  • Mentally wall off personal uniquely identifying info from your online presence, actively build a habit of opsec so that withholding information is your default mental state
  • Be careful about who you meet online
  • Use different, unrelated usernames, passwords & emails for every account. And try not to connect to those accounts with your real IP address (use Tor or a VPN)
  • Be mindful that anything done online leaves a trail
  • agents provocateurs may seek to find patsies willing to perform an ill-advised illegal activity in order to legitimize police repression. If someone is trying to pressure you, especially if you don't have a long and proven history with them, be extremely wary.

For a full guide on what encrypted communications platforms to use, and how to stay off the radar, read the Digital Camouflage section within the Monthly Meta post here (you'll need to scroll down. I'd add it here, but it won't fit in this comment).

That moment when it dawned on Keir Starmer that he done fucked up by trying to court trump's favor...

Canadians are pretty screwed, especially considering their affinity for following the rules. That's an especially bad tactic when dealing with a literal rapist- he will get closer and closer while framing any resistance as paranoia or false accusations (they are true), then by the time he's close enough its way too late. Good luck Canada, literally everyone's on your side o7
