Porn is work. Why should it not be watermarked?
Movies are work, why are they not watermarked?
They are. At the beginning or end. And Movies are distributed and consumed differently than porn
People watermarking their porn? So that other people can't steal it and pretend to be them...?? obviously??
As I said in my other comment, that does not happen in normal movies.
Like Netflix make movies worth millions, but they don't watermark it in the actual movie.
Because porn is spread differently. When was the last time you went to a colleague and said: "Hey did you see the last Johny Sins scene? I really liked how he swung his hips on XY's ass..." that never happens and if it does... it's another level of gooning. What happens more often is that you say: "The last Nicolas Cage movie was kinda meh. Longlegs was not a movie I would have casted him on..."
For porn, you sometimes share a clip that stands out with a friend and don't really elaborate... often so to shock or troll. That's when the watermark comes in handy for people to know where to find the full thing. Movies don't need that as everybody is talking freely about them.

I've heard the legends of people like that existing. Have you actually encountered one of these mystical creatures?
Yes... unfortunately I know someone that does that... you'd expect them to be young... but they are in their 50ties... and the things they share are not even hot.
Wait, is it really that rare to have a friend group with whom porn gets shared? My friends and I, men and women, share our favorite porn finds all the time. It's not for shock value, but sharing things we genuinely enjoy, much like a cool song, a great recipe, or an engaging book.
Yes. Your friend group is a bunch of weirdos.
Now that you mention it, a lack of sexual uptightness seems generally anomalous in the US.
Indeed. But I'm European ... German even. We're very cool with nudity, but that is very much non-sexual. Being that open about what you watch to have a wank is quite weird here as well. It is cool I guess ... but it's like almost a fetish.
Are we talking the clips on the hub or full length films?
Because I'm pretty sure the full length ones don't have watermarks, just the clips on porn sites, so they can advertise where you can get the full film.
There is a lot of companies that watermark their full length movies.
Mater of fact, even creators on only fans movies are watermarked.
Most probably brand recognition and or copyright protection, like half the videos on porn sites aren't uploaded by the original creators, just illegal rips, so it probably helps them with takedowns and shit.
If there were better copyright protections for porn, they wouldn't feel the need to watermark their stuff.
Plus you gotta treat only fans as the independents they are, you can't compare the big tiddy goth girl on only fans to Netflix, they're nowhere near the same.
So that people know who made when it gets copied and shared by 3rd parties.
You don't see that at normal movies.
It's like if you are watching Netflix, you don't expect to see their logo in the whole movie.
Just once at the start of the movie. That's it.
Normal movies are usually made by big companies and involve famous actors, so it's very hard to post them to another platform and claim them as your own without people noticing.
What is "porn watermark"?
Watermarks inserted into porn.
Hmm, I haven't seen anything like that. Do you mean a logo of the studio somewhere in the corner? It happens, but rather rarely.
Maybe OP mostly downloads material that is considered an advertisement by studios?
Or I completely misunderstand the theme...
Hmm, I haven’t seen anything like that
You clearly need to watch more porn.
Do you mean a logo of the studio somewhere in the corner?
Either that, the name of the model or the channel. In the corner, at the bottom/top or across the entire video, sometime static, sometimes scrolling .... take your pick!
across the entire video
Really, never saw anything like that. While the name of the studio/model might be of some use.
