I think we need to have an intervention. We need to ban the term "slammed" in headlines and encourage more creativity.

It's a flare traveling at the speed of light it hit us before any observable data made it here.

Also prediction models of the sun are notoriously unreliable.

We can predict all the weather on earth with higher precision and still get it wrong.

Solar flares are made of charged particles (plasma), they travel at a speed much slower than the speed of light.
