Considering it's a front-end, I'm surprised there are no screenshots of what it actually looks like on their readme.

Yes, this is always the biggest turn-off for me and it kind of doesn't make want to try it out. Post screenshots, people! Pictures can say more than a thousand words! They just have to be at the very top of the readme.

After installing Liftoff I use frequently than Jeroma, for me it's simple app with better view of instances than other android app. I hope so that will be Liftoff soon on FDroid repos.

it looks like it's a fork of discontinued Lemmur https://github.com/LemmurOrg/lemmur

Tried to login, toast message says it doesn't recognize my username. Uninstalled. Going to stick with Jerboa

I tried the other two clients on F-Droid but one wouldn't install and the other crashed when opening. So for now I'm on Liftoff.

Was Jerboa the one crashing on opening?
I was also having the Jerboa startup crashes. Version 0.0.35 fixed it for me (it might not be on vanilla F-Droid yet but it is on the IzzyOnDroid repo)

I just tried it again and it's working. Liftoff isn't letting me interact with anything outside my instance.

Are you actually looking at it from your instance? The post should say via myinstance.com at the top. I think there is someone working on making this behavior more intuitive. Also I posted this on liftoff.

I've got the same problem. In order to subscribe to communities from different instances I need to do it through a browser first. Only then I'm able to post using liftoff.
