I just binge-watched the entire season and wanted to get a discussion thread going.

Thought this season was pretty tight. Loved all the cameos in the christmas episode and the offshoot episode in Denmark directed by Ramy Youssef

What did ya'll think of it?

This is probably the first show I have ever watched a second time immediately after the first watch.

I loved 'Forks' and seeing Ritchie grow.

I loved the visuals of all the fancy dishes throughout S2 and it made me look at cooking differently. It makes me want to create something incredible. I can't get the image of the dessert in Copenhagen that tasted like a 'Minty Snickers Bar' out of my head.

The last episode was so stressful with Carmy's predicament, but I kinda loved it. But the last scene with Claire stressed me out so much. It was good writing, but I can't wait for it to be resolved one way or another!

It was great. I don’t have any analytical thoughts on it but I was moved by Richie’s arc this season.

Loved everything about this season. I know a show is good where my phone is on the couch and I have no interest in picking it up. Just dialed in to the TV. It’s probably the one show that’s currently on where I would be upset if it wasn’t renewed.

I loved it. Seeing Richie grow into his current position was very uplifting. The drama between Carmy, Natalie/Sugar, and their mother kind of explains a few of Camry’s decisions and character (ie, moving away from home to NYC, never letting people in). Family is a psychological nightmare. And as always, the “inner workings” of building a restaurant from the ground up or taking over a failing one is interesting (even if some of it is exaggerated for TV).

Here is my prediction for next season though

spoiler

  • S3 will be the series finale with The Bear getting its first Michelin star
  • Will see significant growth in Sydney as a leader and owner, and Carmy will likely handoff his ownership stake completely to Sydney, Richie, Natalie, or split it amongst them. Have seen throughout the series that Carmy does not enjoy restaurant life even though he is extremely talented.

... WTH? ep10 was trash. terrible. left a bad taste (haha pun).

initially i was skeptical of a retread of S1. by S2E3 i was super into it. almost had to skip the holiday episode bc i loathe the holidays, but it was extremely rewarding.

got the feeling that this season shoulda ended with ep9 and then....
