I write primarily on my Royal Futura 800, and I'm looking for some recommendations for what could be considered the "all time best portable typewriter ever". Mechnical or Electrical, under $1500 ideally. What would you folks consider to be the absolute GOAT?

Best typeface, cleanest action, easiest to use, smoothest output, whatever your metric.

You generally can't go wrong with a Hermes, but I have a soft spot for the Adler Contessa de Luxe. Beautiful, snappy, with a very elegant typeface.

I love my Hermes 5000. It’s buttery. If you want something more snappy and clinical, maybe an Olympia SM7.
