Every time I go to some place like a pawn shop or thrift store and look at games, I always have to do a double take when I see the side of a "Sonic Heroes" case, regardless of console. I, for whatever reason, always think I see "Sonic Riders".
Not any I can think of outside the one you posted.
However, when people abbreviate TF, is it Team Fortress, or is it Titanfall? Even adding 2 doesn't help at all.
There are lots of abbreviations like that. Specially when on Nintendo side of things. AC - Assassin's Creed or Animal Crossing. MK - Mario Kart and Mortal Kombat. A general one is DS - Dark Souls and Death Stranding.
Some of these might just be me. For instance Dark Souls and Death Stranding both are on my list to play soon, so I mention it with friends and we use DS for both of them, so can be confusing sometimes.
I guess it depends on the communities you frequent.
Ooh, or Armored Core or Ace Combat, there's a lot of series with the initials AC
TF is terraform
When people talk about CS2.
Do you mean Counter Strike 2 or Cities Skylines 2?
One of my friends would mess up Ghost of Tsushima and Sekiro regularly,
Heh. Never confused them, but I do say they are same games just to annoy some of my friends. "You play as Samurai, and fight with swords in both, so basically both are exactly the same game, right?"
Last Light, Dying Light, Dead by Daylight. Never played any of them.
I also confuse Amnesia, Penumbra and SOMA.
Yep, Dying Light and Dead by Daylight for me. Doesn't help both are horror games.
Same. Always confuse Outer Worlds and Outer Wilds.
Can't think of any other game on top of my head, but I also confuse some studios, like Monolith Soft and Monolith Production, there are also two Avalanche studios, will have to look up exact names though.
Also, Rare and Retro, can't remember which one was which. There is/was another similar one I think, unless I am confusing it with something else.
With full makes, only the example you posted. They even came out roughly at the same time, making it worse.
But the most common abbreviation I misunderstand is PoE, which I always think of as "pillars of eternity", but most interpret as "path of exile".
Power over Ethernet
Well yes, but usually it's clear from context that it can't be that.
Outer Worlds and Another World, I keep wondering why people have been talking about a 34 year old cartridge.
Another World is also called Out of this World.
I thought the name Another World seemed off! I knew it was something world. So I searched alien game with world in the name SEGA Genesis.
Less a mix up and more a misread, but I always read it as "Drova - Foreskin"
holy shit it's not just me
Not me, but on three separate occasions, when I tell people I was playing Tri-Ace's RPG Radiata Stories they confuse it with Atlus' Radiant Historia. Both fantastic games, though.
Funny enough, that's not even the only Tri-Ace game getting confused with another RPG. Valkyrie Profile and Valkyria Chronicles get confused all time, the latter being from SEGA much later on.
Glass jaw and Jawbreaker.
I love them both but can’t keep them separated despite being so different musically.
I’ll get tickets and have no concept of what kind of show I’m in for.
Either way it’s a good time.
Edit: oh! This is a gaming com.
Pay me no mind.
I have never played them, but:
Gods Will Fall (2021)
Godfall (2020)
Satisfactory and Infinifactory, everytime I hear one of them, I have to open Steam to check which one’s which.
