I understand if you are on low budget but don't skimp on whatever you use and touch every day. Buy something dirt cheap and save up to something good that you can enjoy later on when you have the money. You only have one body and if sitting at the computer is how you use it, take care of it!! If it cost money, so be it. Mouse, keyboard, screen and the biggest thing is a good chair. Take care of yourself.

with that tight of a budget, you have two choices.

1. you can get a mechanical keyboard from taobao for as low as CN¥80 (€9.5) plus shipping. be careful of listed pricing on taobao, because if it's too good to be true, that's because that pricing reflects a lesser default option like a barebones kit with no switches or keycaps.

2. you can go with any cheapo dell or hp office keyboard that you can scrounge up for free, and save up for something better that you can find a review on from keyboard content creators.

You can check out sites like aliexpress or similar and see how the options they have at that price are worth it. Checking your local used market (like craigslist) might be an option as well.

I think the only real option you have for a mechanical keyboard at that price point is hunting for good deals on the second hand market.

There are mechanical keyboards available for that price but I think they are all pretty bad. You are probably better off going with a decent rubber dome rather than something mechanical if your main goal is just being more comfortable using your laptop.

Another option would be building your own board. Depending on how cheaply you can get parts, that is.

I understand money is tight and things are getting ever more expensive. But is it not an option to save up a little more and get something decent rather than the aboslute cheapest board?

I've come to the hard truth that a good keyboard costs a minimum of $350 (or equivalent in invested time/work), and worse still... they are "consumables", in that they don't really last that long.

In China you'd get one for that price. My Royal Kludge keyboard cost me around 100 RMB, I believe (although as usual they don't show all the models, for export; mine has got blank tops with side markings for the keys). Unfortunately most importers would convert that to $100 :/ Maybe you get lucky and find someone nicking the trend, or selling you one second hand?

Buy a second-hand one and you can always purchase new keycaps for a fresh feeling, but 25€ will be a tight budget anyway
