In lemmy you can just copy-paste an image into the markdown-text area. Which is quite useful I think.

Users have a media section in their profile, listing all their media-uploads. Will Ibis support similar ways in the future? How would you go about implementing that?

Drawbacks:

image uploads take more storage, cause higher server loads
image uploads add another burden on moderators
