Unfortunately it does violate the DMCA and so Mozilla must enforce takedown requests or they'll be liable for damages.

That link shows their Chrome version. When I click the Firefox repo link on that page it asks me to log in. Is that normal for GitHub? I don't think I've had to log in to view other software.
That's GitLab, not GitHub. Sounds like they took the repo private.

What's the story there? Anyone know why or is it just speculation?
