I'll give you the short version: Joey Ryan was a scuzzbucket who got caught up in wrestling's version of the #MeToo movement (#SpeakingOut), and has been trying to weasel his way back in ever since. Apparently he thought we all forgot, or that we'd buy this "born again" hokum.

Funny thing is, his most famous character was an unrepentant sleazeball. He would say feminist things "out of character" (on social media, in interviews, and what not) so we all wouldn't realize how much of himself was actually in his character until the people he worked with finally spoke out

Looking into it, a wrestler named Brett Semtex called Havoc out at a RISE show in the UK, but the promotion has since said they have no plans on working with Havoc. I'm not sure if RISE was planning on working with Havoc and backed out because of the backlash, or if Semtex was just trying to get attention. Since we're talking about wrestling, it could easily be a little of both.

The comments in the original post on the Portland Wrestling facebook page were everybody telling the promoter how fucking stupid this was, and he just kept defending his decision as well as Joey himself.
