Nah but I haven't logged in yet. I will probably delete it at some point but leave the comments up. I'm fine with leaving whatever value I have contributed on Reddit. It's their website and they own the content I willfully added. But I won't contribute more.

I've removed all of my many years of comments (edited them first, so if they restore my comments they get strings of randomly-generated words to screw up the data feed going to the LLM text-scrapers), but I will not be deleting my account. I want to keep it operational so that I can see if they try to restore my stuff, then remove it again if they do.

I've kept my last two weeks of comments, so that the Rexxit discussion is still alive. I'll purge everything else that's not Rexxit-related on the 30th.

No, I won't, mostly because I post regular PSAs about important stuff there, and I don't like losing control of my account.

Deleted all my posts and then deleted my account. I still do some light browsing with my remaining days of Apollo, though. But I’m ready to make kbin my new home. I hope we will have a proper app soon.

Went undark today for a day (maybe just a day depending on vote). So I wiped those and then deleted the account for good!

I did a GDPR request on my data. As soon as they reply I intend to delete all. No soft delete, really delete. I want to make sure the stuff is out of their servers.

I was really in two minds about deleting my comment history. I decided not to. Some of it is the kind of stuff that might just help me in a few years when I've forgotten my previous solutions and Google them all over again.

Things like relationship and parenting advice communities and other sorts of support subreddits don't seem to be moving anywhere yet and I do enjoy them so dunno. Currently RedReader seems fine for those and won't be affected by the API change because it was granted an exception. The RedReader dev seems to be on my wavelength. So far the Fediverse seems perfectly fine for technical topics. With the exception that on Reddit, you will often find support people for small devices that work for companies inside of their communities. I'm keeping my eye out for the other content.

Another issue is that for better or worse it is somewhat easier to trust reddit. Reddit admins limit what moderators can know or see about users. I don't fully understand the privacy implications of the federverse and the fact that you don't know who the admins are and what they might be doing. So in some ways I trust Reddit a bit more at this point.

I know the damage that a power tripping reddit mod can do and how to protect myself from moderators harassment there. But I suspect that Fediverse is essentially "moderators who also know your IP address". So some topics do seem safer to discuss on Reddit than here.
