I recently watched "Sinners" at the movies, I went in without any prior knowledge of the story, or the film's genre-mixing or plot twists. It was a great experience, and I'm glad I took a chance on this movie without knowing what to expect.
Sinners is still on my "to watch" list. I was never a big fan of Final Destination. Hoping to catch 28 year later this weekend in the cinema.
I did not like The Monkey.
Some seemingly good options that I have yet to see.
I'd give 28 Years a pass. Mega disappointing. There were a few good bits, but saying it was one of the best horror films of the year so far is.... shameful.

One of those movies where they put basically all of the good bits in the trailers. It felt like they were really stretching with it. Like they wanted to have it be the same universe, but it was all kinda surface level. Idk. 🤷
Being her back, sinners and the Monkey are my top 3 so far.
