This winter when I finish my run before dawn and the temperature hasn’t been above freezing for days I’ll think “now I can’t wait for summer.” It turns out that I’m a fickle bitch. And that the temperature every day should be 45* F in the morning for runs and 85* F in the afternoons for cannon ball related activities.

Lmao I’m exactly the same! Somewhere magical has that sweet spot, probably Shangri La

It’s one reason why I moved here.

I couldn't do it this summer. I love running on my lunch break, but it's been over 100f so many days this summer that I completely fell off. I'll start up again soon now that it should begin cooling down hopefully

I tried running in some mid 90s weather and that felt almost dangerous

I ran a few days when the heat index was around 110f. It sucks, feels like running in an oven. I'll just wait for the pitiful excuse for a fall we have here

It's really what you're used to. When it gets above 21°C here (70°F) in the UK it tends to get very humid and sticky.

Also we're not acclimatised to it. We're currently "enjoying" temps over 27°C (80°F) this week after a much cooler month. This is not typical for September. The nights have been very warm too. I've been getting home after a run the last few days and making a small puddle on the floor tiles.

Looking back, most of my personal best paces have been in the early autumn or spring.

What's the climate where you live?

I never really liked winter until about 4 or.5 years into running. Now I don't mind it at all. But late fall has really become my favorite season.

I’m in the Midwest US. It’s not crazy hot like the equator, but with climate change and shit this summer has been real hot and unfun

Yeah I'm in the Midwestern edge of the Northeast. Humidity is no joke. This summer I have come to embrace shirtless running for the first time because my pride is just not worth the heat.
