[-] Valmond@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

I would rather talk with the guards in Whiterun than your chatbot, zuck.

My cousin's out fighting dragons, and what do I get? Chat duty.

That is one of the sickest burns I've read in a while.

Correct, I have no friends, and I intend to keep it that way.

Funny, less than an hour ago I heard Ed Zitron speculate that these uber-rich tech bros invent these things because they don't know how to socialise, and they think everybody is like that.

I don't think this guy understands the concept of a friend. "Friend" isn't just a speaking machine. Friendship is mostly about some deeds. In many cases even useful deeds, not just fun messing around.

From the metaverse to his new AI fueled drivel. Zuckerberg has been very busy trying to convince us to divest from the real world and submerge ourselves into his virtual worlds of delight. Up to this point his products have been pure shit. But I worry the time will come where better engineered "mirrors in our cages" will succeed where the Zuck is just flopping about.

For several reasons (including this one), I deactivated my Facebook account a month ago, but have kept Messenger to maintain contact with people. Does anyone have a good suggestion for a different app that functions like Messenger, but helps me divest from feeding Markie Mark my valuable user data?

The one and only good thing about having less friends than in my teens is that I have more time to focus on work, which makes me money (directly proportional to how much I bill my clients). That and being able to move off Facebook because my friends are on Signal and Telegram.

Now, Zuck thinks I want fake AI friends so I could spend hours per day on Messenger again? Hell nah. I'll go grab a beer in the pub or message one of my remaining real friends. If I dedicate my life to chatbots, I'll soon have even fewer.

I don't know Mark, I might not, but at least I have good friends. Can you say the same for yourself?

[-] MyOpinion@lemm.ee 3 points 2 days ago

We don't want to chat with you Zuck.

We can put our spy specs on and update our spy site profile on our spy device and if there is anything left that is just ours we can now tell it to our spy friend.
