So who will you vote for the next "election?" Supreme Führer Trump and his league of cartoonish evil, or the spineless cowards who will do nothing to make things better?

[-] yournamehere@lemm.ee 9 points 19 hours ago

dems are as crooked as the rest. nancy does insider trade since decades and chuck schumer is just evil ignoring what israel does. or remember the black fig leaf obama? nobody has ever ordered more deadly airstrikes in countries you are not at war with. i think this entire "american dream" thing was just metaphoric for a modern form of slaves and kings. just think of it: who were those that left europe for the new world? sleezebags, greedy goldsearchers...just ppl who were bad anyways. and thats what their entire fake culture is built on.

I'm torn on this. Everything feels like more and more capitulation. But at the same time, this administration is absolutely fucking up negotiations with the world and with China. Shooting themselves in both feet over and over again.

I think democrats should be filibustering every goddamn vote and slowing down the wave of fascism that we are drowning in. But I also think they should get the hell out of the way when their enemy is making a mistake.

Blocking an ambassador to China right now probably wouldn't accomplish much other than offer up the dems as a timely scapegoat for all of the consequences of Trump's disastrous trade relations.

All politics are performative. Blocking Trump's appointments would be a sign that they're willing to fight for democracy....but they aren't., so they don't.

This is just more evidence that every time Dems blamed not being able to enact their promises on Joe Manchin, there were always going to be just enough Democratic "defectors" that their donors didn't really have to worry.

Cool, so now everybody gonna stop jerking off Booker for his useless filibuster? Or is he still getting a pass?

Behold, a democrat:

[-] Ileftreddit@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago

We have 2 parties, the dems (center right) and the republicans (fascist)

[-] SippyCup@feddit.nl 2 points 17 hours ago

I'm forming a new party called the "Guillotines for anyone with more money than me party"

We'll guillotine anyone with more money than me. That's my whole platform. I don't have a lot but I'm comfortable. If you also don't have a lot but you're comfortable boy do I have the party for you!

[-] RymrgandsDaughter@lemmy.world 29 points 1 day ago

Alright at this point we should just clean house everyone in executive, Congress and Judiciary needs to go

[-] potpotato@lemmy.world 18 points 1 day ago

Sorry yall. It was Fetterman or Oz and we fucking ended up with both.

[-] DriftingLynx@lemmy.ca 8 points 1 day ago

Hmmm, it's like they're all rich and know that in the end it'll be fine for them under a fascist regime?

I'm not an American, but I have to give the Trump supporters they are right about one thing: the Democrats do not seem interested in fixing their problems. Trump's just honest about it 🤷

It's utterly baffling.

Traitors to america

Imagine being a liberal right now lmfao You’re pissed at EVERYTHING and yelling at your allies while the people you’re telling them to vote for are supporting the very thing making you furious.

Fuckin’ awesome.

[-] RedditIsDeddit@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

No, it's just disappointing.

Welp, Duckworth just lost my vote.

[-] The_Caretaker@lemm.ee 106 points 1 day ago

“Yea” votes included New Jersey’s Cory Booker, whose record-breaking speech on the Senate floor against Trump’s policies earlier this month seemed to inspire the rest of his party, as well as Illinois Senator Tammy Duckworth, a military veteran who has criticized the administration for firing military veterans from civil service positions." They talk shit to raise funds from the working class, then vote for MAGA so their corporate backers will pay them too.

[-] ZombiFrancis@sh.itjust.works 20 points 1 day ago

The only reason Cory did his speech was to cover for Chuck Schumer declaring his job as a Senator is to serve Israel.

[-] The_Caretaker@lemm.ee 18 points 1 day ago

Cory also voiced his undying support for the brutal genocidal police state of Israel during his 25 hour filibuster of nothing. They have learned nothing. The majority of Americans and all of the actual left, oppose the genocide and don't want their money being given to support Israel but the politicians just double down on it.
