This is from 8 years ago though.

She's done a great job since then. She's still the mayor and continuing her efforts.

What fucks me off is all the history that has been destroyed for cars.

What really grinds my gears, is whenever it snows, and it is really easy to tell the cars aren’t even being used most days.

Our public space is apparently just a place for some people to store their personal belongings.

Makes me want to just put a freezer in a vacant parking spot and leave it there.

Meanwhile a battle royale between cargobike owners about parking unfolds in backyards, at schools and shops.

But i aint never seen car spots designated for cargobikes although three families could benefit from just one car space.

Here in Japan, every convenience store, supermarket and retail store has bicycle parking. Nearly all apartment buildings, which they call mansions, also have bicycle parking.

Sure, here too. But cargobikes take up a lot more space than regular bikes.

Not a freezer, a concrete planter with flowers or shrubs in it. #FuckCars #BanStreetParking

A rectangular concrete planter with plants inside. It's sitting in a green lawn with trees and shrubs in the background.

I love that. We even have something similar on my street - it makes a world of difference.

Still mostly cars though.

greens and cars

I went there recently, there is still quite a lot or cars and some awful streets.

But it's at least one million times better than I remember 15ish years ago - so many more tranquil and usable streets, and even where there are still cars there's less of them making it quieter and easier to cross streets. Many parts of the centre seem quite a bit more chilled out now - there used to be an air of stress and aggro - probably mostly the car infestation their honking mating calls.
