Rhubarb under apple tree (sh.itjust.works)

I have found that this rhubarb has been a great companion for the apple tree as it shades the roots and competes well with the weeds such as the incessant and detestable buttercups

In Dutch/Flemisch we call that "rabarber"

Perfect place for Rhubarb is early sun, and afternoon shade, regardless of what all the growing suggestions say. It grows wild where I am, and is always biggest in afternoon shaded spot. Tried growing some in full sun where I'm at, and the yields are never as good as partially shaded.

I. LOVE. RHUBARB!!!! It's One of the first edible things to grow in the year, the leaves look like giant dinosaur fauna in the summer, and after a few years you can split them and get two plants!
