Broke my lease a few weeks early and had to pay for the entire month. In the rental office, ready to turn in keys, there's a woman who's apartment was not move-in ready yet. But she had already left her old place and had no where to put all her stuff. I let her use my apartment since it was paid up and just going to sit empty. It's a risk, but she was really nice and grateful and it all worked out perfectly.

That's a really kind thing to do she'll always remember it

My friend went through a really rough breakup this week and I comforted him and talked with him for a long time until I was sure he'd be okay. He said that my friendship with him means the world to him. He's feeling much better now and is back to his hobbies! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

That's a lovely story, I'm so glad you could help

I work in the caring profession and I really go above and beyond for my clients. I work really hard for them and get great results. I also did voluntary work for years and still do bits and pieces now.

I'm a really good friend, and a friend of mine was suicidal a few years ago and I got her through it. I also held her accountable and made sure she saw that she couldn't risk getting that bad again. Another friend was really effected by his dad dying and I constantly supported him through that.

I trained someone at work a few years ago and they really developed well in their time with me. They got so much out of it!

Not a woman so not sure if I should be posting but just wanted to say you sound like a great human from that. Full of kindness and empathy which is the best measuring stick IMO.

Khannie that's such a nice thing to say thanks so much! We are women only though so please don't comment again ๐Ÿ˜Š

Oh, I did not know we are women only. And how would we know the gender of the poster?

[-] CheeseToastie@lazysoci.al 3 points 3 days ago

That's always the tricky bit, but often comments give it away. Tbh 95% of the men who've commented have been fantastically supportive

So why keep men out of commenting? I mean, it is a public space, they can read it. I agree that they have to be respectful, as we also should, but supportive men are to be celebrated, not silenced.

I hear you. Overall member feedback is that they prefer a female only space, and realistically, if we allow men then some will be poblematic. We'll have some problems and it'll be harder to moderate the group.
