Somewhat notable due to previous drama these two groups seem to have had previously.

Deleted xManager today and patched Spotify with revanced. xManager has probably saved me well over £200 on a Spotify subscription over the past couple of years so I can't say anything bad about them. Respect.

(Same goes for Revanced for YouTube as well!)

Where did you find a spotify apk? Some how that detail is eluding me. I don't see it on apkmirror.

[-] Madbrad200@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 month ago

XManager stills works fine for me, to be honest.

Thank you for the update, thanks xManager for having kept the tunes running.

I am a Spotify paid user (I paid with my gf the duo tier or whatever is called, she has an iOS device so she kinda needs it, I could live without it I guess), would I benefit from Spotify Revanced or xManager clients?

Something like having neat features with Smart Tube or YT Revanced with a YT premium subscription?

[-] LiveLM@lemmy.zip 9 points 1 month ago

Nope. Both the xManager client and the current ReVanced patches focus on unlocking premium and nothing else, no extra features.
I think xManager had extra themes? But I dunno if they're working on the current version.
This might change in the future as people tinker with the ReVanced patches and the Spotify codebase though.

[-] beSyl@slrpnk.net 1 points 1 month ago

Does it unlock all premium features? Like, high quality songs, downloads, etc?

[-] LiveLM@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 month ago

The Revanced website says server-sided features like downloading are still locked.
There's a chance they'll get downloading working but high-quality is unlikely IMO.

I've never understood the need for ReVanced because every single application it supports is a horrible pile of trash I'd never install in the first place. So many good alternatives and people would rather patch garbage like Spotify? Why?

[-] schubidubiduba@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 1 month ago

What do you use for music then?

[-] Sturgist@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 month ago

Local storage

[-] procapra@lemm.ee 2 points 1 week ago

you don't use youtube?

[-] Allero@lemmy.today 1 points 1 month ago

Because people are used to it, and also because it features one of the largest music collections you can find. Same for other things it supports.

[-] DeeBeeDouble@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 month ago

Where can I find the non split apk to patch? Somehow I am too stupid to find it...

[-] Brain@lemmy.zip 7 points 1 month ago

You need to run something like AntiSplit-M to make the split package into an APK that is usable.

I'm not affiliated with that program, it's just the one that I was linked to when I had similar questions about split apks. So use it at your own risk obviously.

[-] DeeBeeDouble@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 month ago

Thank you, that worked!
