Image Transcription:

[ A man in a brown monk's habit leans down to pet a friendly orange cat in a bucolic monastic landscape that includes gardens and medieval-looking buildings. The man, who is on the right, leans heavily on a walking stick, his chocolate brown monk's habit is tied at the waist with a rope. His salt-and-pepper grey hair is cut in a typical modern men's style rather than a monk's tonsure. He is smiling in delight as the orange cat to the side props it's front paws halfway up the walking stick to get closer to the monk's hand which is cradling the cat's head and neck, mid-scratch. The ground below them is of mottled green, rather scrubby mixed grasses. Behind the small hill they're on, we can see a very tidy, rather large vegetable and herb garden stretching into the distance. Behind that, a short stone wall and a large multi-story grey building that is at least over a hundred years old, probably more. Farther beyond still, gentle hills look blue against the horizon, and graceful pine trees stretch towards the sky.]

Are there monasteries where you can smoke weed and watch star trek after tending to the gardens? Because this looks really nice.

Amazing description!

bucolic

(adj)

  1. Of or characteristic of the countryside or its people; rustic. synonym: rural.
  2. Of or characteristic of shepherds or flocks; pastoral.

Interesting to still see someone use two spaces after a period, especially in conjunction with a spell checker (all misspellings (ripe, father) form sensible words)

Yeah, it's a habit that I know makes me look old but it's just not a habit that I'm particularly motivated to change when there's so much better things I can be spending my limited attention on.

I type using an actual keyboard, not on my phone, and the misspellings are my own fault, typing the wrong thing.

AccidentalRenaissance is for photos that look like Renaissance paintings.

This means that they look like Renaissance art in their composition, their coloring, their saturation, the angle of the scene, the types of settings, etc.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Must be a photo. Not a meme, drawing, art, ai-generated or ai-enhanced image, screenshot, low-effort post, meta posts, video, or anything else but a photo.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Must be SFW. No gore, porn, extreme violence, blood, corpses, or similarly disturbing content. Absolutely no pornography, even if it's "tasteful".

๐Ÿ‘‰ Comments must be civil. No slurs of any kind or using words to insult, demean, harass, or abuse other individuals or groups.

๐Ÿ‘‰ The Renaissance part (not the photo itself) must be accidental to the photograph. In other words, no photos of Renaissance fairs, people dressed in medieval/Renaissance clothes, etc.

๐Ÿ‘‰ NO influencer selfies, professional photoshoots with watermarks, any type of OnlyFans-like content. We are not the place to work your side-hustle.

๐Ÿ“ธ If you know who the photographer is, give them credit in the comment section. This is the only type of self-promotion we allow.

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿฆฏ Alt-Text for vision-impaired users in the post body or in the comments is highly encouraged. Just pretend you are describing a photo to someone on the phone.
