Sure wish someone would make a new Tribes game and actually give it some love instead of abandoning development like with Ascend and Rivals.

Is this the shooter game with skis and jetpacks? Latest being the Tribes 3: Rivals (which I was very excited to get but development was abandoned again despite being marked still as Early Access!?)

Really!? They abandoned rivals? I barely got a chance to play it. Was waiting for more structure building stuff to come out. Or modding :-)

Well, looks like it!

Shame they chose LW, cool otherwise though!

At this point we should probably be happy with any community willing to move to Lemmy, whatever the instance

The LW centralisation is really bad though. If LW goes authoritarian or dies à la feddit.de, it’s basically wiping out most major communities and a heavy proportion of all accounts.

Well, as you know, I'm well aware.

But we can always figure out things later once the community is here. There's bigger fish to fry.

There's probably gotta be a company/ad friendly instance for Lemmy to become large enough to support niche communities elsewhere. It might as well be lw

The second ads appear on LW, people will migrate like there is no tomorrow

They're already there, they just have to be quiet about it. I mean there was even that catfisher or whatever spamming people recently that became a meme. It's free (advertising) real estate. I mean if tribes opened an official sub on there it would technically be advertising
