Just got a 24 xrs900. I wanted to check the oil, but there was no dip stick? Is there not supposed to be one or is mine missing?

Edit: Just checked the manual and the cap is like that and tells me where the window is. Now I feel a bit silly for not thinking about just reading it. I just sort of blanked when I saw there was no dip stick. Thank you for your quick replies tho :)

check your manual but there might be a little sight glass/bubble (not sure if that's the correct word) instead of a dipstick.

Look for a sight glass. Usually nearby. Stand the bike upright and check the level that way. Consult the owners manual to know if you should check when cold, running, etc.

I'm curious what your prior motorcycles were that this is your first with a sight glass. I don't have much experience myself so it's genuine curiosity. My 2000 800cc sport and my 2015 300cc naked have glasses

81 Suzuki has a dipstick. That's it.

My previous was 2015 Harley Davidson XG 750. It just had a dip stick like you would on a car.
