It seems to me like having one password for everything. Which is ill advised.

If your email is hacked, every account you made using that email address is to.

Yes this article takes a stretch in acting like it is more secure because if they get breached you password does not haha

Use passkeys. And for the love of god someone please get them working on in-app embedded browsers.
