What are these sponges and why do I see more and more of them? Are they somehow better than normal ones or is the shape the novelty?

I know that they were funded by the us shark tank show and that they supposedly change consistency with temperature?

It's a brand called scrub daddy. Yes, they stiffen and get more abrasive in cold water and soften in hot water. The mouth can be used to clean silverware and the eyes are a two finger handle to wash out glasses. As to if they're better, I guess it's a matter of preference. I've used them and they seem to work well, but honestly I usually just use a scrub brush personally.
