KSP2 on Linux? (sh.itjust.works)

Does anybody know if there are plans to release KSP2 natively on Linux? I use Linux at home and while the Proton compatability layer usually treats me alright, it's not really guaranteed to work with every game.

I realize the developers have more important features to focus on first (like making rockets fly-able), but KSP1 supported Linux from its earliest days. I think unity was responsible for that. It would be nice to see some love from 2 too.

Looks like they will be looking into it after the roadmap items are done source. I recall them responding similarly in a developer Q&A somewhere as well.

Does anyone know if its compatible with proton? Has steam done any work with it?

I have been able to launch the game but not play it with any stability. Some of that instability is Proton, but I suspect more is from the fact that my GPU is an old 1050

tbh I wouldn't expect it to work that well with proton, it's already really inefficient in the first place so running it through a compatibility layer is not that realistic imo.

It works pretty well for me but I'm using a 6900xt. YMMV
