Are we just ignoring the glaring issue of missing the chance that the person has actually already taken their meds and will overdose in the second instance?

[-] db0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 2 years ago

Are you being serious right now? because if so, what's wrong with you, mate?

[-] dwindling7373@feddit.it 3 points 2 years ago

I'm being appropriately serious given the context. How serious are you being?

That's slightly less serious than me then. What's up with your reaction?

[-] db0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 2 years ago

Well I wasn't sure if you were serious due to lack of body language. :)

[-] dwindling7373@feddit.it 4 points 2 years ago

That wouldn't help, I'm a firm believer in performing fabricated outrage for comical effect.

[-] db0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 2 years ago

Careful, you're messing with AuDHDers!

[-] Empricorn@feddit.nl 6 points 2 years ago

I am not a medical professional and I obviously don't know the dosage of people in this thread. But I'll still say no one will overdose (as in harm themself or die) by accidentally taking 2x what their body is used to.

[-] chonglibloodsport@lemmy.world 11 points 2 years ago

Double dosing on ADHD meds might not kill you but it can cause anxiety attacks or even seizures. If it’s an extended release formula then you could be in for a very bad day!

[-] Lileath 3 points 2 years ago

Yeah, I accidentally took my sister's ADHD mddicine instead of my own once and felt so sick later that I went home during a lesson. And my sister doesn't even get a that much higher dosis than me.

[-] Empricorn@feddit.nl 1 points 2 years ago

Oh wow. Important info!

[-] dwindling7373@feddit.it 1 points 2 years ago

Overdose (as in accidentally taking 2x what their body is used to), obviously?

[-] Empricorn@feddit.nl 1 points 2 years ago

That's my point. It may be the medical definition, but colloquially, no one uses it like that.

[-] dwindling7373@feddit.it 1 points 2 years ago

Am I a joke to you?

[-] Samvega 17 points 2 years ago

What about, "take this and you will see beyond the veil of mystery into the beating heart of a universe which seeks to pervert, destroy, and drive you unutterably mad"?

[-] SpruceBringsteen@lemmy.world 7 points 2 years ago

These are just two tickets to see Jersey Boys?

[-] Reverendender@sh.itjust.works 5 points 2 years ago

And I was hoping for Hamilton

[-] gofsckyourself@lemmy.world 12 points 2 years ago

Less blurry copy

[-] imPastaSyndrome@lemm.ee 11 points 2 years ago

No it fuckin doesnt.

"It's dangerous out there, take this" is that old man, with a SWORD. And I'm pretty sure it's the only Zelda game where an old man gives you anything.

It's more like literally any other videogame

[-] the_artic_one@programming.dev 17 points 2 years ago

He gives you a bunch of stuff in different caves throughout the game.

[-] imPastaSyndrome@lemm.ee 4 points 2 years ago

Not crucial but you got me there. I had no idea. Glad to be corrected.

[-] donuts@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago

you know, you're right. And I thought of making a similar comment. But it doesn't really matter for the punchline, except us nerds are peeved by the inaccuracy. In Oracle of Seasons, he goes "Oh keeper of the essences! I have awaited your arrival! I give you this!", so imo that's close enough

[-] imPastaSyndrome@lemm.ee 7 points 2 years ago

I mean if you're going to make a nerd joke for nerds, why not make it accurate for nerds?

[-] donuts@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

Don't think every nerd has ADHD. or they other way around. But I don't disagree with you

[-] db0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 2 years ago

Holy shit, you nerds are getting way too upset about the meme not being accurate to geek lore.

[-] imPastaSyndrome@lemm.ee 2 points 2 years ago

I wasn't really trying to sound too upset, I was a cranky mess this morning. Sorry if I got on your nerves. Just thought I could be pedantic since I wasn't talking directly to the Tweeter and wouldn't hurt anybody

[-] db0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 2 years ago

It's ok I'm not upset, I'm just pointing out that the crankiness might be a bit overblown 😆

[-] flicker@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

Neurodivergent people getting cranky on the internet? Whaaaaaat?

But actually, getting into fights online is dopamine seeking behavior. So being nitpicky, cranky, pedantic nerds is kind of a symptom.

[-] imPastaSyndrome@lemm.ee 3 points 2 years ago

I'm not just a problem. I'm also a solution. NaCl salty

[-] hex@programming.dev 1 points 2 years ago

That's rude mate

[-] flicker@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

In Breath of the Wild, that's how you get your hang glider. From an old man.

[-] BigDanishGuy@sh.itjust.works 7 points 2 years ago

Don't know about y'all, but that's the main reason why more people don't know about my diagnosis. I've got coworkers who'd ask that immediately if I showed the slightest bit of inattentiveness.

yes, as a matter of fact, I have taken my meds today. Your story just sucks, and I already guessed the rest, 5 minutes ago, and tuned out

[-] Default_Defect@midwest.social 1 points 2 years ago

Help me glamorize taking my grip of anti-rejection pills.
