Protect rich people at all costs
Not even protect, really, but also “ensure they experience not the slightest discomfort nor the smallest penalty of law, and make sure their ever-expanding demand for luxury is exceeded in every measure.”

Many things. For example, every single president during my lifetime has been almost universally liked by everyone in the country - kind of like a lifetime of Obamas.
A more recent example of something they do well is when I started my business. I received nearly 10 hours of one-on-one personal guidance on how to do it, completely free. They’re also paying me around 600 euros a month for a year to help me get started.
What country is this? Uruguay?

To find new ways to obstruct the lives of the everyday citizens, while letting both local and international monetary elites to do what they want.
Many things, but not all of them good. Still, some are good.
Taxes. They have an incredible talent to raise new taxes.
And, more seriously, like already mentioned in another comment: destroying public services. which is a real sad thing to see happening, if you ask me.

Naval aviation.
Military stuff
Corruption, and running enterprises into the ground with. Our countries official power utility, our postal service, our railways, our police as examples. You know , the stuff we kind of need as citizens. Edit: Our taxation is world class though.
Maintain global dominance by attracting and keeping STEM workers
Killing brown people. Incredibly skilled at it.
Attracting tourists so that the money can be spent on building stadiums for the World Cup, meanwhile out immigrants keep destroying cities every time my country gets involved in a non-friendly match.
And that country is not in Europe.
Gun violence. Police murder. Cover-ups.
Superannuation
Minimum 10% compulsory
You explain what mean?
If you're employed, there is a compulsory contribution of 10% of your pay which goes into superannuation (retirement savings)
You can also do voluntary contributions which you get a tax benefit on.
The compounded growth over time and the enforced nature of the savings means that every person who works contributes to their own retirement.
Some companies match voluntary contributions up to a threshold. And you get a tax benefit from it.
Because it's compulsory, it isn't really considered part of your remuneration. Companies will talk about total rem but most employees talk about base pay.
Only issue is massive superannuation providers with a huge amount of market clout. But you can be very prescriptive, or you can set up your own super fund.

Historically we have had good education and OK healthcare. The trend is downward.
The military has been really good with purchasing used but good equipment for cheap.
The foreign policy has been consistent, and even opponents to military alliance pushed for NATO when Pootin screwed the pooch.
