In a conversation with an IDF representative, a Gazan civilian described how Hamas terrorists were beating them with sticks

Coming from an IDF representative. Very credible source.

If only Hamas could have corroborated...

Overall, we rate Ynetnews as Left-Center Biased based on editorial positions that moderately favor the left. We also rate them High for factual reporting due to proper sourcing and a clean fact-check record. (D. Van Zandt 5/19/2017) Updated (12/08/2023)

If only the IDF was known for their integrity and respectability. Their reports and information would not need to be corroborated.

[-] fukhueson@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

I treat their statements the same as I've seen this community treat statements from Iran. No problem right?

[-] Sundial@lemm.ee 7 points 2 months ago

With little to no corroboration or regard for the authenticity of the source as long as it supports your personal bias and preconceived conclusions?

Please provide evidence that this community accepts information released by the Iranian military as automatically valid and not needing corroboration.

What would be a more credible source with access and reach?
Hamas?

[-] wholookshere 6 points 2 months ago

How about allowing journalists in to document?

[-] Sundial@lemm.ee 6 points 2 months ago

In this case? Yes. And I know that comes across as biased and naive, but given the IDFs actions and statements from the past year alone. Literally any source would be more credible.

Does Gaza have a non-combat zone?

Maybe let them out of Gaza entirely?

[-] fukhueson@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

Agree, Palestinians deserve better than Hamas.

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 9 points 2 months ago

Hamas are not the ones who have closed off all of Gaza's borders.

[-] superkret@feddit.org 3 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

The fact that Israel's actions are despicable doesn't mean you have to defend Hamas.
They're literally walking over Palestinian children's corpses to stay in power.

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago

Please quote me defending Hamas.

Unless that was a lie.

Was it a lie?

[-] fukhueson@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

A point no one contested, they're simply forcing them to stay there.

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 8 points 2 months ago

I don't think you understand the concept of closed-off borders.

They cannot leave even if Hamas told them to get the fuck out now or they'll kill them all.

Israel is the one controlling that, not Hamas.
