My understanding of the cultural bit is that gay relationships are tolerated over there, but after you reach a certain age they expect you to enter a straight marriage and make children. Real Shinzo

It's an excellent series imo and only has a 20~ episode run so it's not daunting to get through. The fight choreography and animation really make it.
Frankly, I find it rather refreshing that such a large international company is pushing against the puritanical reign of marriage to endorse living in sin.
