An Anarchist FAQ (anarchistfaq.org)
submitted 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) by PM_ME_VINTAGE_30S@lemmy.sdf.org to c/anarchism

A reminder for the liberals who seem to be finding this space and spamming us with "gotchas" like anarchist spaces having rules or anarchists talking about banning stuff.

These questions have already been answered hundreds of times and debating each and every one of you individually is simply too much work and just not very fun.

Note that anarchists are not a monolith and nothing here is set in stone, but IMO it's a pretty well-researched guide for contemporary anarchist thought.

Yep it's the colloquial cultural brainwashing. Equating anarchy with chaos and disorder. Anarchists absolutely can create rules and structure. The key being that they are very flat structures and the rules generally being based on consent.

Power ALWAYS corrupts. Which is why it's smart to limit peoples exposure.

Man, that ain't a FAQ, it's a manifesto. Which is fine for what it is! But it's way over complicated to call it a FAQ realistically.

Anarchism

A community for anarchist. Anarchism is a set of philosophies that promotes a world free of hierarchical systems.

No electioneering, no telling people to or not to vote or who to vote for. Interpretating this rule as forbidding critisism of candidates is certainty an interpretation but in the context of an ANARCHIST space it's a bad interpretation.

No bootlicking & that will include being hyper pedantic about people calling politicians, prosecutors, bureaucrats, etc, cops.

Yes, if you're an obnoxious neo-lib you're going to get banned. If you're not obnoxious & have good faith questions you can stay.
