I hadn't heard of the game until I saw this post. I watched the trailer and it looks awesome.

His company shouldn't have survived from his explicit and direct false advertising and constant, blatant lies to the community in the weeks leading up to the release of the game. He's a scammer and a conman.
Ehh, I'd agree if the game never progressed past its launch state. But they've since more than lived up to the initial promises of the game. And everything since launch has been added for free. So I'm willing to support them again under the assumption that they will support this new title in the same way they did for No Man's Sky. Maybe don't pre-order though haha.
Nah I went back and played it again after people claimed it was good now, and while it was better it's still not a good game and not what was originally promised.
But they've since more than lived up to the initial promises of the game.
Disagree, based on what I've seen. They've barely gotten close to what was originally claimed. And even if they had, that doesn't excuse the lies and false advertising that Sean spent all of his time on before release.
You're awfully upset about a game that they have spent 8 years trying to make good on.
Oh, nice - 8 years later and only some of what they claimed was in the game at launch are still lies!
That’s blatantly untrue and it’s obvious you have no first person experience with the game that exists now. You’re either being intentionally ignorant or just shit posting for imaginary internet points.
So you're telling me that you can destroy space stations and land on asteroids? Did you ever get unique ships? How about cloaking devices?
You can land on destroyed space stations. Destroy huge freighters. Can't land on asteroids as far as I know. But you also can get unique ships you can even build your own now. And I'm pretty sure there are cloaking devices in the game now.
"Landing on asteroids" would be incredibly pointless and stupid.
Congrats on being the first person banned from the community.
My god get over it. You people make me wonder how you handle yourselves in real life. You gonna harp on that one person who rejected your offer for a date until you die, too?
Jeez, Cyberpunk also undelivered at launch and both are good games now.
On top of that Hello Games released free game updates ever since, if that doesn't redeem the game, nothing will.
If you bought something like a new instrument or TV and realize when you get home that it's broken, would you forgive and respect the seller if they promised to fix it over the course of 8 years???
Edit: can't wait for EssTeeYou to ban me along with everyone else with The Wrong Opinion ™ lmao
Congrats on being the first person to not be banned from the community when you thought you would be.
You would refund it and move on with your life like any sane human being. Most people wouldn't hold a grudge because they got over promised and under delivered on a video game nearly a decade before.
I don't think anyone is defending the launch state of NMS in contrast to what Sean Murray was promising, but it has been pretty clear for a long time that Sean was not trained on pre-release community interaction, got caught up in the excitement of the hype-machine, and way oversold the state of the game. They have since had between 20 and 30 FREE major updates and have turned it into a decent and unique game that tons of players love.
What more do you people want?
Like the Cybertruck? Yeah I'd return that shit back and buy something else until they fix it.
I refunded No Man's Sky on Steam shortly after release and bought it for cheap later when they released a couple of updates.
That's reasonable, but the question wasn't what you'd do. It's if you'd still respect the person who sold it to you while knowing it wasn't what they told you it was.
In his case I did, because actions speaks louder than words and he worked hard to fix the rushed release.
If it is another NMS expedition my prediction is either changed world generation with an expedition similar to the 3rd one where it’s mostly on one planet
I hope
Not gonna complain for another expedition. Could be a tie-in of some sorts between the games too, which would be cool.
If the release date (or something similar) of Light No Fire is tied into a No Man's Sky expedition that would be pretty damn cool!
Oh that would certainly be interesting. Given the big reveal of no man’s sky I’m sure they could
Tap for spoiler
Not sure if this is a spoiler
Somehow make some game mechanics a canon thing. Something like sword art online ig is an example that comes to mind but maybe how like with cyberpunk parts of the UI come from having cybernetic eyes
