What do you think of the "Retry the Encounter" suggestion in the rulebook? (ttrpg.network)

Apparently the RPG has a suggestion to restart the encounter if the players are eliminated during a combat encounter. What do you think of this? Does retrying encounters make sense in an RPG, or only in a video game?
