I would just like to make the point that that is not normal.

I'm not saying it wasn't safe, it's just perhaps not quite as safe as some of the other ones. Some of them are built so that they don't fall over at all.

Was this ~~tanker~~ pylon safe?

[-] taldennz@lemmy.nz 31 points 1 year ago

Well not this one obviously. I just don't want to give the impression that pylons aren't safe.

In the plains? Chance in a million.

[-] Raxiel@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Is that unusual?

[-] AlexWIWA@lemmy.ml 18 points 1 year ago

I knew this would be here. Thank you for keeping the dream alive

[-] neuracnu 63 points 1 year ago

The solution is clear.

You must construct additional pylons.

[-] Retrograde@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Maybe the energy minister requires more minerals?

A gust of wind? In the middle of a field? Chance in a million!

[-] Hadriscus@lemm.ee 2 points 1 year ago

it's not very vertical either

[-] Zhayl@lemmy.world 11 points 1 year ago

You must construct additional pylons.

[-] dutchkimble@lemy.lol 9 points 1 year ago

He's right, it shouldn't

[-] ThatWeirdGuy1001@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago

It looks like a poorly rendered video game until you look at the people.

[-] Batman@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

If we construct a space elevator we could just lift it each time it falls

[-] Rubanski@lemm.ee 4 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

My take: if a pylon falls, it should pull itself up by the bootstraps!

[-] uis@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago

Pylon is too big to fail

[-] ConstantPain@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

It's a quantum issue. Brownian motion at the base of the pylon is the culprit here. Just freeze it with liquid helium and you'll be good.

[-] iAvicenna@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Spawn more pylons regurgitation and neighing sounds

[-] psychonova 1 points 1 year ago

clearly it was made by boeing...
