I would just like to make the point that that is not normal.

I'm not saying it wasn't safe, it's just perhaps not quite as safe as some of the other ones. Some of them are built so that they don't fall over at all.

Dang, having trouble finding that video. Anyone?

[-] Zachariah@lemmy.world 26 points 5 months ago

Was this ~~tanker~~ pylon safe?

[-] taldennz@lemmy.nz 31 points 5 months ago

Well not this one obviously. I just don't want to give the impression that pylons aren't safe.

Was this pylon safe?

In the plains? Chance in a million.

[-] Raxiel@lemmy.world 2 points 5 months ago

Is that unusual?

[-] AlexWIWA@lemmy.ml 18 points 5 months ago

I knew this would be here. Thank you for keeping the dream alive

[-] neuracnu 61 points 5 months ago

The solution is clear.

You must construct additional pylons.

[-] Retrograde@lemmy.world 4 points 5 months ago

Maybe the energy minister requires more minerals?

[-] criticon@lemmy.ca 47 points 5 months ago

The front fell off

A gust of wind? In the middle of a field? Chance in a million!

[-] Hadriscus@lemm.ee 2 points 5 months ago

it's not very vertical either

[-] Zhayl@lemmy.world 11 points 5 months ago

You must construct additional pylons.

[-] dutchkimble@lemy.lol 9 points 5 months ago

He's right, it shouldn't

[-] ThatWeirdGuy1001@lemmy.world 8 points 5 months ago

It looks like a poorly rendered video game until you look at the people.

[-] Batman@lemmy.world 6 points 5 months ago

If we construct a space elevator we could just lift it each time it falls

[-] Rubanski@lemm.ee 4 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

My take: if a pylon falls, it should pull itself up by the bootstraps!

[-] uis@lemm.ee 1 points 5 months ago

Pylon is too big to fail

[-] ConstantPain@lemmy.world 3 points 5 months ago

It's a quantum issue. Brownian motion at the base of the pylon is the culprit here. Just freeze it with liquid helium and you'll be good.

[-] iAvicenna@lemmy.world 3 points 5 months ago

Spawn more pylons regurgitation and neighing sounds

[-] psychonova 1 points 5 months ago

clearly it was made by boeing...
