This guy showed up to a LGBT youth center and filmed supporters outside it and the parking lot for the building. He has a baphomet tattoo which leads us to suspect he's a black metal nazi. Clearly a member of Local 18.

Proud union member. Supports fascists.

Make it make sense.

There's no proof that he's a Nazi. He took some cool pictures and that's it, yet someone is blasting his face all over the internet and accusing him of being a Nazi. Da fuq?

Being in public with obscenities on you / your property is the most cringe / childish / idiotic thing I can think of.

For anyone new or just unfamiliar with the organization that is associated with the image of Baphomet

As a member of TST, anyone anti-LGBTQ is not TST. There's no gatekeeper or reviews, so this dbag might think he's a Satanist, but his views are not in line with TST.

[-] Jarix@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

Right absolutely. I was only trying to help people understand TST is not CoS. Which seemed to be happening in comments.

That man does black metal a disservice. I speak on behalf of many metalheads:

FUCK FASCISTS

Hailing Satan? For evil?? Wild how the culture is a direct track to either being the chillest of people, or this guy.

Giving Satanists and union workers a bad name in one sweep. If he was in my local ID raise hell.

[-] SpeakinTelnet@sh.itjust.works 0 points 2 years ago

Look, not to defend Satan but I'm sure a metric shit ton more people died in the name of god than in his name. All in all he seems like a pretty chill dude with an open policy for his afterlife club.

If that Jeep has "American Infidels" across the windshield I see him near The Islanders in Middleburg Heights most mornings

This was in Fairview Park so not far away. I didn't get a great look at the front unfortunately.

That backwards pointing light bar on top of his emotional support vehicle is the cherry on top of the insecure douchebag sundae. So is it a colored strobe that he uses to impersonate a police car or is it a floodlight that he uses to blind other drivers behind him?

maybe its an american thing (in uk here). is there a correlation with baphomet and nazism? i hadn’t heard that connection before

[-] avguser@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

No. There is such a thing as "national socialist black metal", but trying to correlate a baphomet tattoo with NSBM is a stretch. He very well could be a Nazi, but I wouldn't associate that with satanism solely from some images. There are assholes in every religion, we don't need another satanic panic out of ignorance and fear.

Satanists are often diametrically opposed to Nazis, since they believe in freedom, and Nazis don't.

[-] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 0 points 2 years ago

These Satanists sound like stand up people! I just wish the "satan" part didn't immediately bring them a stigma.

Then again, I know nothing else about them except your post, so I may be extremely out of the loop for context.

The Satanic Temple is by far the most famous from the US. They fairly regularly prevent attacks on separation of church and state by pulling stunts such as:

  • Demanding a statue of baphomet be placed in any government building that has the ten commandments

  • Doing satanic prayer before local government functions that do Christian prayer

  • Doing after-school Satan clubs as an alternative to Christian Sunday school

  • Using religious exemptions to get people abortions, as their tenets claim an individual's body is purely their own to do what they will with

And much more. They're a spicy bunch.

They like the stigma. They weaponize the stigma to keep separation, as they will and do use any opening Christians give them by weakening that separation to scare them away.

You keep making them sound more and more awesome.
