Lol at the comment not understanding that women can have dicks

my trans coworker a few jobs back showed us a meme: "Girls are like pizza. Some girls are like a plain cheese pizza. Girls like me are like a pizza with sausage."

she was a trip. Fond working with her.

[-] Fylkir@lemmy.sdf.org 8 points 1 year ago

Which reminds me: never seen Polish or German sausage on a pizza.

[-] jarfil@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Surely there must be some fetish site for that...

  1. Person replies: are you straight? You just haven't had the right dick yet

Doesn't work if the NPC is female tho

Helen launched a thousand ships but somehow people think that it’s dick that’s powerful? Please.

[-] quicksand@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

And that was only with her face!

Curb Your Enthusiasm theme begins to play

Ah darn— on Kbin it shows properly. On Lemmy (or at least my Lemmy client, I’m using wefwef) the post title shows as “¯_(ツ)_/¯” because the backslash is registered as an escape or formatting character, so you have to do 2 backlashes. It was common on Reddit for that to happen (warning: Reddit profile link), so somebody would give them the other backslash or 2 (in the case of the underscores emphasizing text as well.)

[-] Excrubulent@slrpnk.net 9 points 1 year ago

That's standard markdown, which old reddit used. I don't think it should be applied in titles which should be rendered as plain text. On my client, Connect, it renders correctly.

[-] SmoochyPit@beehaw.org 4 points 1 year ago

Oh! I might open an issue then, if it seems inconsistent from the default web interface.

[-] Excrubulent@slrpnk.net 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I just checked in the browser and it does render as plain text, so that would appear to be how it's intended to look. I think titles should be that way anyway - large plain text is enough to communicate a title.

Thank you for explaining the drawing 🙏

[-] DessertStorms@kbin.social 36 points 1 year ago

Not sure if /s or not, so: some people can't see, that is for their screen readers

[-] ziggurism@lemmy.world 26 points 1 year ago

A transcription is not an explanation

[-] SmoochyPit@beehaw.org 3 points 1 year ago

you dropped this -> \, here you go

[-] Metal_Zealot@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

So, can anyone explain why the "\" symbol disappears when typed out normally? what do you have to do to make it register?

[-] Uvine_Umbra@partizle.com 20 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Markdown formatting, \ is often used as what is called an escape sequence. I don't knew the rules for lemmy's markdown, just remember to add 2 \'s

[-] Metal_Zealot@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Huh. didnt think it was that east, thank you!

[-] MemeCollector@kbin.social 4 points 1 year ago

I just look up "shrug text emoji" and copy pasta that lol 😂

[-] Catoblepas 5 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Here you go, this is how to make it appear properly in markdown: ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯

It will appear as this when you paste it: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

[-] nueonetwo@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

[-] MemeCollector@kbin.social 2 points 1 year ago

Thanks though I don't seem to be having any issues, looks fine on kabin!

[-] Catoblepas 2 points 1 year ago

Oh my bad, I keep forgetting how differently the fediverse can look in different instances!

[-] MemeCollector@kbin.social 3 points 1 year ago

No worries I appreciate the help!
