It's amazing what one person's actions can do to an entire brand. For the first several years after the Model S release I was sure that my next car is going to be a Tesla. Now, I'm 100% sure that I'll never buy one.
And for those of us that did buy a Tesla that chump has made it harder to get rid of it.
After working with telsa i can tell you, not buying one is the smartest move you can make.

What I don't understand is, given his industries he is part of, why he is cozying up to the political right. As far as I know, they've always hated "hippy dippy" electric cars. And rockets are "nerd" shit. So the pivot is very strange. It's like a gay club trying to attract straight people.
CEOs and the rich in general are dictators at heart. They get their way through threats and violence. They and the right-wing are two peas in a pod.
I'm pretty sure he doesn't give a fuck about the underlying businesses, he only cares about clout chasing (cosplaying as dollar store Tony Stark) and making money, and his choice in industries reflects that: self driving cars and getting off world.
I don't believe for one second that he actually believes in what he does, outside of taking over SpaceX to try to make a new ~~South African Emerald mine~~ colony on Mars.

Florida is literally only part of the industry because of their geographic location. It's easier and safer to launch eastward over a huge ocean with the Earth's rotation.

Actually, no, I’m on the inside because there are certain people I want to keep up with on every platform because they haven’t transitioned out to Mastadon/Lemmy/Pixelfed/etc yet and may never. Doesn’t mean I give them significant traffic. I rarely if ever comment on T/X, and all promoters get autoblocked with browser extensions.
