What is the point of successfully extracting if you don't have samples? :P
Ahhh I see you've been playing with my brother, who runs off with 50 samples on him in search of just one more right as the Pelican is landing.
Oh no he should drop them off before he leaves
He should, but it turns out all little brothers are dumbasses. Even when you're in your 40s.
He's either a dumbass or the most helldiver who ever helldove
Pro tip that I saw somewhere and have successfully executed with a couple random lobbies: if the extraction site is relatively convenient, dump your samples there. That way if you all do make it to extract, the samples are waiting for you, no one is out running around with them. If you don’t make it, no major loss.
Yeah I try to do this with the Super Samples if at all practical.
Only works if your dumbass teammates don't take a long ass detour to pick them up, then die with them far far away.
Absolutely. Not a perfect system lol
The new ship upgrades take a freaking ton of rare samples!
The mission is finished when you complete the last major objective.
Extraction is a bonus objective.
Exactly! For a sweaty gamer note: completing the last objective vastly ramps up the number of enemy patrols by almost 4x. Also sitting on the extract point causes more patrols to spawn, as does splitting up into separate groups.
So the absolute worst thing you can do to farm samples is complete the objectives, then have someone wait at extract while someone else goes and farms more samples. If you want to easily farm samples, save the last objective until after you've gathered your samples!
Not until I ran out the clock the first time did I find out about the emergency extract shuttle.
