I'm still a little confused but I'm glad to be a part of this change that's taking place.

Yeah it feels like more what Reddit used to be! Hoping it gets traction and we get some good app suppory

Same, when sync for reddit will stop working I'll delete my reddit account

[-] davysnavy@lemmy.fmhy.ml 4 points 1 year ago

Goated app. Hope the dev considers making a lemmy app

[-] Guitarded@lemmy.fmhy.ml 4 points 1 year ago

Yeah, I'm a tad confused, too. But I'm willing to hang around and check it out for a bit.

Anything in particular that you're confused about ? @Darx97@lemmy.fmhy.ml @spez_swallows@lemmy.fmhy.ml as well

[-] Guitarded@lemmy.fmhy.ml 2 points 1 year ago

The whole structure, really. I read the infogram user guide thing, but I'm still not keen on how "instances" and communities work. What instance can see what, etc. Is there a lemmy equivalent of /r/all?

[-] Kaizen@lemmy.fmhy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

I recommend you read this post here https://lemmy.fmhy.ml/post/24569 If you're still confused I am happy to explain further, as for r/all nope, not that I'm aware of but if you go to the all tab here you will get to see posts from all the instaces we federate with.

I've been using jerboa for my reading, but it kinda sucks trying to find communities from scratch. Is there a macro-wrapper that I can scroll all the popular instances from alltogether? I'm on android mobile 99% of the time.

[-] brunox@feddit.cl 2 points 1 year ago

not exactly what you're looking for, but check out this comunity browser https://browse.feddit.de/

[-] Kaizen@lemmy.fmhy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

Not that im aware of but you can access the All tab and see the most active posts from instances we federate with

[-] brunox@feddit.cl 3 points 1 year ago

It works well and it feels nice to get a community active.

There are some hiccups in the instances because of the hug of death we're giving which I'd expect they recover in a few days. In the meantime, i'll just keep finding more comunities to subscribe with the comunity browser. I just wish there was something similar for kbin communities (magazines I believe they're called) so I could subscribe to them too.

[-] RomanRoy@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I liked kbin as well. The desktop version seems nice and I found it easier to interact with the rest of the Fediverse than Lemmy. Unfortunately, no app yet, and apparently Lemmy is becoming much more popular. Which is absolutely whatever, since that's the beauty of the Fediverse.

[-] brunox@feddit.cl 2 points 1 year ago

I'm already on Lemmy so I don't see any point (at least yet) on joining kbin, I just want to subscribe to their magazines from Lemmy :)

I'm glad I deleted reddit (boost for android). I guess I could've kept the app until the end but I don't need to be logging in. I gave 10 bucks to rmayao for many hours of use. Lemmy is great and I'm spending less time scrolling in favor of interacting.

[-] eggzabyte@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

So far so good. any android app worth for lemmy?

[-] JetpackCat@feddit.it 6 points 1 year ago

You can use "Jerboa for Lemmy" made by Lemmy's developer. It's buggy sometimes but I think it will improve over time.

[-] Corey1031d@lemmy.fmhy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

This is what I'm using and I'm loving how simple it is.

[-] MavTheHack@lemmy.fmhy.ml 3 points 1 year ago

for now Jerboa is the only one. There should be more relatively soon

[-] thurmshire@vlemmy.net 1 points 1 year ago

Itโ€™s taking some getting used to, but I think Iโ€™m getting the hang, slowly but surely.

that's an intriguing username, @spez_swallows@lemmy.fmhy.ml

So far so good for me. When you use it more and explore it, you start to learn what is what. I do miss the community that had been built on reddit. But that what years in the making. It's good to have moved to another platform (given recent reddit events) and start to build a new community here.

Edit: The subs I am subscribed to on reddit that went dark indefinity have moved here. So I am subscribing to them here.
