This saying needs to die. It doesn't matter what you love doing. Being compelled to do it at the behest of some other master to earn a place to sleep and food to eat, is work. Dependency on money corrupts the freedom that is inherent in the word love.
The curse of turning your hobby into a profession is that you will lose your hobby
Well, not necessarily although I guess it's true for a lot of people. I work as a programmer, but I coincidentally took a vacation day today to relax with my hobby: programming. The difference is that with my hobby project, nobody asks me what it's good for or how it will earn money. I just work on the stuff that's recreational for me, without having to satisfy anyone else.
I wish I could do recreational programming again. I have tried many times, but it’s no use.
Aside from game jams, it’s difficult for me to be motivated programming outside of work. And even in game jams I tend to focus more on 3D modeling.
This is one of those things that I really enjoyed but there isnt much to say (and no one has said much) and an upvote doesn't really feel like enough? Idk hi this is awkward I lol at your comic?? Wtf do you say idk oh well

Thanks for calming my anxieties
This is a super wholesome little thread ☺️.
Bad parenting.
This is such a Facebook reply to a comic
This is such a Reddit reply to a normal comment.
Technically.
Do what you love and you will never work a day in your life because someone is always willing to do it for free. This is why game Dev is such a shit show
Comic Strips
Comic Strips is a community for those who love comic stories.
The rules are simple:
- The post can be a single image, an image gallery, or a link to a specific comic hosted on another site (the author's website, for instance).
- The comic must be a complete story.
- If it is an external link, it must be to a specific story, not to the root of the site.
- You may post comics from others or your own.
- If you are posting a comic of your own, a maximum of one per week is allowed (I know, your comics are great, but this rule helps avoid spam).
- The comic can be in any language, but if it's not in English, OP must include an English translation in the post's 'body' field (note: you don't need to select a specific language when posting a comic).
- Politeness.
- Adult content is not allowed. This community aims to be fun for people of all ages.
